The Continu-8 Score

The Continu-8 score was developed to predict the risk of recurrent VTE in patients with a provoked or unprovoked DVT and without stopping anticoagulant treatment for D-dimer measurements.

Further studies are required to validate this score. See References Nagle et al 2021 for further information on the Continu-8 score.

Male sex
Yes: 1 Point
Factor VIII >213%
Yes: 2 Points

Score
0		 Low Risk:
5-year probability of recurrence: 7.7%
Score
1-3		 Medium Risk:
5-year probability of recurrence: 12.1%
Score
4-5 		High Risk:
5-year probability of recurrence: 29.1%
