The French TMA Score

Introduction:

The French TMA score is based upon the national registry and was developed to allow the identification of acquired ADAMTS13 deficiency in the absence of an ADMTS13 assay being readily available.  Three variables were identified and these form the TMA algorithm,



The French TMA Score:


 

Select Criteria:

Platelet Count <30 x 109/L
1 Point
Serum Creatinine ≤200µmol/L
1 Point
Detectable Anti-nuclear Antibodies [ANA]
1 Point

Score

Max Score 3

Interpretation
1-3 Severe ADAMTS13 deficiency [<5% normal activity] is associated with a score of 1 in any category.
